Charles T. Cozens Arranger, Composer, Conductor, Pianist

Charles Cozens is a true Renaissance Man of the Canadian music industry. Highly acclaimed as an award winning arranger, composer and orchestrator for major Canadian and International artists and ensembles, he is also a gifted orchestral and theatrical conductor, pianist, accordionist, impresario and recording producer. His orchestrations and compositions have been recorded for many genres including audio recordings, movie and television sound tracks and other media.

Legendary in the industry, he is well known for creating compelling symphony shows, featuring his arrangements for full orchestra, performed by artists such as Sir Elton John, Randy Bachman, The Canadian Tenors, Countermeasure, Bridge & Wolak, Quartetto Gelato, Mark Masri, The Nylons, Michael Danso, Bending The Bows and many more.

With over 150 CD recordings to his credit as a composer, arranger, performer, conductor and producer, he was recognized by the International Conductors Guild in 2007 as a leading expert on orchestral conducting in the recording environment. His lecture to the guild was subsequently recorded and published by Podium News.

One of his recent worldwide record releases includes the 2nd international branding of The Mozart Effect; a 17 album collection of the works of Mozart, which he conducted and produced for Linus Entertainment during the summer of 2016.

Maestro Cozens has conducted most orchestras across Canada, several in Moscow and the United States and in 2013, was the first Canadian invited to conduct in Cuba with the Orquestra de Villa Clara.

The subject of many articles, reviews and journals, Maestro Cozens has also been a contributing author to Broadway North: The Dream of a Canadian Musical Theatre (Mel Atkey) and Glory Days (Bill Freeman).

Maestro Cozens has for many years been a strong advocate for the Canadian music industry, helping to develop and nurture up and coming Canadian artists. As the founder and conductor of the Burlington New Millennium Orchestra (BNMO), he is looking forward to present young dynamic Canadian artists over the course of the next several seasons.

In 2023, Maestro Cozens was inducted into the Burlington Performing Arts Centre Hall of Fame.
